With racing cancelled at Wetherby, the Grade 2 Towton Novices’ Chase has been moved to Ffos Las on Saturday. Ben Pauling’s Handstands is the well fancied favourite following 3½ length win in the Grade 2 Esher Novices’ Chase last month. The likely challenges will come from Dan Skelton’s Cherie d’Am for owners Darren & Annaley Yates, and Jonjo and A J O’Neill’s Saint Davy who was third behind Handstands at Sandown.
Saturday’s other graded race comes from Fairyhouse with the Dan & Joan Moore Memorial Handicap Chase. All the big guns are represented in this open looking contest with Willie Mullins, Gordon Elliott, Gavin Cromwell and Henry de Bromhead all saddling entrants.
Six all-weather races should ensure we have live racing this Saturday, with four races live at Chelmsford and two races at Newcastle.
