Saturday Racing Tips for 28th September 2024 (Newmarket, Haydock & Curragh)

ITV racing on Saturday will come from both side of the Irish Sea with action from Newmarket, Haydock and the Curragh.

The bulk of the live races will come from Newmarket on the final day of their Cambridgeshire Meeting with five of the eight televised Saturday races. The “Jersey Lily” Fillies’ Nursery Handicap opens preceedings before a trio of Group races in the Royal Lodge Stakes, the Cheveley Park Stakes for fillies and the Middle Park Stakes for colts. The final race shown will be the ever-competitive Cambridgeshire Handicap which has a maximum field of 35 set to go to post but the forecast conditions may have a significant impact.

Away from Newmarket, Haydock will contribute two races, the first of which will be the 1m Sky Bet Handicap, followed later in the card by the £60k My Pension Expert Handicap over the sprint distance of 5f.

ITV will also be broadcasting the Group 2 Beresford Stakes from the Curragh which has been won by Aidan O’Brien on 21 occasions including 11 straight victories between 2011 and 2021.
