You may think things would be quiet as we approach the Ebor Festival, but not a bit of it.
ITV Racing has seven live races for us this Saturday. Two come from Ripon including their feature race of the season, the Great St Wilfrid, while Newmarket’s opener the Grey Horse Handicap is also aired.
The other four all come from Newbury on Hungerford Stakes Day. The feature race comes at 3:35 and while improvers English Oak and Kukkuli can go well, Tiber Flow may well prove to be the best of this bunch over seven furlongs.
The day starts with the Group 3 Geoffrey Freer Stakes in which the classy Al Aasy will be hard to beat, while later Oisin Murphy will have a point to prove aboard King Power Racing’s The Big Board.
Tiber Flow’s rider Tom Marquand has another plum ride in the 3:00 as he takes the mount on Starlore, an unlucky loser at Goodwood this season for Juddmonte and trainer Sir Michael Stoute.
