The final classic of the season, the St Leger, provides the focus for the ITV crews this Saturday, with four live races from Doncaster in total.
The action opens with the Group 2 Champagne Stakes, with hopefuls here looking to compete in next month’s Dewhurst to cement their place in the ante post markets for next year’s 2000 Guineas. Next from Doncaster is the Betfred Portland, a competitive handicap over 5½f.
The Group 2 Park Stakes will be the penultimate live race of the day, with the 2022 winner, Kinross, heading the betting. The best will be saved until last on Saturday, with the St Leger closing the show. This is the oldest of the classics and will see £700,000 up for grabs. Aidan O’Brien is looking for his eighth victory in the race and saddles three runners including the favourite and Queen’s Vase winner Illinois.
Chester contributes with two televised races, the Listed Virgin Bet Stand Stakes and Watergate Cup, a handicap over two miles.
