Haydock’s John Of Gaunt Saturday has a seven race card, four of which will be televised on ITV. The first will be the Betfred Supports Jack Berry House Reverence Handicap, a Class 3 race over 6f. This will be followed the Listed Achilles Stakes, a 5f sprint. Heading the betting for this is No Half Measures for Richard Hughes, a Group 3 winner last season when victorious in the World Trophy Stakes at Newbury.

Next from Haydock will be the Lester Piggott Fillies’ Stakes, a Group 3 over a distance of a mile and a half. Vying for favouritism are Estrange for David O’Meara and Shaha for John and Thady Gosden, both of whom have won at Listed level. They are just ahead of Charlie Appleby’s Beautiful Love, a Grade 3 winner in the USA.

The final live race from Haydock will be the John Of Gaunt Stakes itself, a Group 3 race over 7f. John Gosden has more wins in this race than any other trainer with four and he, alongside son Thady, saddles the favourite for this year in Audience. Amongst the challengers will be Alyanaabi for Owen Burrows, Kinross for Ralph Beckett and Spycatcher for Karl Burke.

The first of two live races from York on Saturday will be the William Hill More Top Prices Handicap, a 5f sprint worth £65k. The second will be the Bronte Cup Fillies’ Stakes, a Group 3 over a distance of 1m6f. Term Of Endearment, who is now trained by William Haggas, won this last year for Henry de Bromhead and Rachael Blackmore and is well fancied to win again. Also at single-figure odds are Scenic for Ed Walker, Sueno for John and Thady Gosden and Davina Grace for Andrew Balding.

The sole live race from Chester on Saturday will be the Ladbrokes Handicap over 7f. At £50k, this race is the most valuable of the day at the Roodee and is set to have the maximum field size of 13 going to post.
