It is Charlie Hall Chase Day on Saturday at Wetherby and there will be five races covered live on ITV. The title race of the meeting is a Grade 2 Chase over 3m and the field includes 2022 winner, Bravemansgame, and the 2024 Turners Novices’ Chase victor, Grey Dawning.
Ascot’s opening fixture of the jumps season is packed with valuable handicaps including Byrne Group Handicap Chase and the Sodexo Live! Gold Cup Handicap Chase both worth £100k this year.
The classiest race of the day will be run over in Northern Ireland, with ITV covering the Grade 1 Ladbrokes Champion Chase from Down Royal. Gold Cup runner-up Gerri Colombe tops the betting ahead of 2023 Ryanair Chase winner, Envoi Allen, and last year’s King George VI Chase winner, Hewick.
There’s plenty of British interest over in the US at the Breeders’ Cup, no more so than in the big race itself, the Breeders’ Cup Classic. Aidan O’Brien’s City Of Troy is favourite to follow up his wins in the Epsom Derby, Coral-Eclipse and Juddmonte International with victory on the dirt track at Del Mar.
