It’s the middle day of Cheltenham’s hugely popular November meeting, with four live races from Prestbury Park. The show’s opening race is the Arkle Trial over 2m. Dan Skelton’s L’Eau du Sud heads the betting after an impressive 10l victory at Stratford last month.
The day’s big race, the Paddy Power Gold Cup, is the second race on our screens this Saturday. Paul Nicholls already has a hattrick of wins in this, including last year with Stage Star. He has the first two in the betting with Ginny’s Destiny and Il Ridoto with Harry Cobden opting for the former who was runner-up in both last years Turners Novices’ Chase at the Festival and the Manifesto Novices’ Chase at Aintree.
Two handicap hurdles round off the live action at Cheltenham, the 3m From The Horses Mouth Podcast Handicap Hurdle and the 2m5f Paddy Power Intermediate Handicap Hurdle.
Alongside the jumps action in Gloucestershire, there will also be two live Listed races form the Tapeta track at Newcastle and their twilight fixture. The first is the 1m2f Churchill Stakes, followed by the 6f Golden Rose Stakes.
