ITV Racing will bring us seven live races this Saturday, four from Ascot and a further three from York.
It is QIPCO King George Day at Ascot and the Berkshire track opens the action with the Group 3 Princess Margaret Stakes for two-year-old fillies. This race could give us some pointers for next year’s 1000 Guineas.
Also at Ascot, the Group 3 Valiant Stakes and the Moet & Chandon International Stakes will be televised leading up to the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes. Last year’s Derby winner, Auguste Rodin, is the favourite for Aidan O’Brien after returning to the winner’s enclosure last time out in the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot.
The first of the three live races from York will be the Jump Jockeys’ Nunthorpe Handicap over 5f, before the 6f Dash Handicap. The third and final televised contest from the Knavesmire will be their most valuable race of the day, the £135k York Stakes.
