There will be eight races shown live on ITV this Saturday, featuring action from both Newcastle and Newmarket.
Newcastle are hosting one of their biggest fixtures of the season with their Northumberland Plate Day. The Northumberland Plate itself, also known as the “Pitmen’s Derby”, is a marathon handicap over a distance of 2m½f. There is a consolation for this race, the Northumberland Vase, which will also be televised.
The three ITV races from Newmarket will be the Listed Maureen Brittain Memorial Empress Fillies’ Stakes, the Fred Archer Stakes, also a Listed race, and the Group 3 Criterion Stakes.
