Scoop 6 Races & Tips For This Saturday

The Scoop6 is a Totepool bet that is usually available each Saturday but can also run throughout big meetings such as the Cheltenham Festival. The idea is to pick the winners of the six selected races and if you do, you could win a share of that jackpot. If nobody wins, the money carries over to the next week.

That’s not all, if you have six placed horses you can win a share of the smaller place pool, and if you are lucky enough to get all six correct, you get the chance to win the Bonus Fund by picking the winner in the bonus race the following week.

Scoop 6 Races for 27th September 2025 (Newmarket & Haydock)

The Scoop6 this Saturday is split between Newmarket and Haydock with three legs at each. Newmarket’s Royal Lodge Stakes is leg 1 before the Ambassador Cruise Line Handicap at Haydock as leg 2 and the Cheveley Park Stakes back at Newmarket as leg 3. Two handicaps at Haydock over 6f and 1m are legs 4 and 5 before the 24-runner Cambridgeshire as leg 6.

Winners at odds of 14/1 and 8/1 in the opening legs in last Saturday’s Scoop6, the Autumn Cup and Ayr Silver Cup, left just 23.87 units left in the pool at leg 3. None of those backed Mustazeed in the Dubai Duty Free Handicap at Newbury however, meaning the £9,483.26 pool rolls over to this week. The £4,117.30 place fund was won by just 3 units, a dividend of £1,372.

Scoop6 Races for 20th September 2025 (Newbury & Ayr)

This Saturday’s Scoop6 opens with the Autumn Cup at Newbury and is followed by the Ayr Silver Cup and the Dubai Duty Free Handicap back at Newbury as legs 2 and 3. The Firth Of Clyde and the Mill Reef Stakes make up legs 4 and 5 with the Ayr Gold Cup as the sixth and final leg.

Six units made it through to the final leg of last Saturday’s Scoop6, the Irish Champion Stakes, with a 50/50 split between Aidan O’Brien’s Delacroix and Johnny Murtagh’s Zahrann. In the end it was O’Brien and Delacroix who triumphed, with the three winning units sharing the £14,370.44 pool, a dividend of £4,790.10. The £4,370.26 place pool was won by 12 units, a dividend of £364.10.

The Scoop6 races this Saturday are split equally between Doncaster and Leopardstown. Doncaster has the opening three legs with the Portland Handicap, Park Stakes and the St Leger. Leopardstown has the Matron Stakes, Solonaway Stakes Irish Champion Stakes as legs 4, 5 and 6 respectively.

Three winning favourites in the first five legs of last Saturday’s Scoop6 left 98.87 units in leg 6, Haydock’s Sprint Cup. More than half of those were on Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes champ Lazzat, though Jerome Reynier’s runner could only finished down in fifth place. Two units did back the winner, Big Mojo, sharing the £40,830.56 prize pool, a dividend of £20,415.20. The £5,069.72 place fund was won by 69.87 units, a dividend of £72.50.

This Saturday’s Scoop6 kicks-off with the London Mile Series Final at Kempton ahead of the Betfair Handicap at Haydock as leg 2 and Ascot’s Schweppes Handicap as leg 3. The Old Borough Handicap will be leg 4 with the Silent Pool Gin Handicap as leg 5. The final leg will be the Sprint Cup.

God Of War winning the opening leg at 11/1 last Saturday left just 379.17 units in leg 2. This reduced to a single unit by leg 5. Winning favourite Saddadd took that unit to the final leg with all hope running on George Boughey’s El Burnham. Unfortunately, the Shadwell runner finished back in ninth with the £30,691.11 pool rolling over to this week. The £5,309 place fund was won by just 2 units, a dividend of £2,654.50.

York dominates the Scoop6 on Saturday with five legs, Goodwood adds the remaining race. Leg 1 will be the Strensall Stakes before the sole leg from Goodwood, the 7f Virgin Bet Handicap. Leg 3 is the Melrose Handicap ahead of the City Of York Stakes as leg 4, the Ebor at in leg 5 and the Constantine Handicap as leg 6.

Despite winning favourite Addison Grey and winning second favourite Rhythm N Hooves in the first two legs last Saturday, just 859.92 units remained in leg 3. This reduced to a single unit by leg 5 following wins for 12/1 Havana Rum and 10/1 Lou Lou’s Gift. The hopes of that unit in the Great St Wilfrid Handicap rested on Richard Fahey’s Rock Opera who could only finish in ninth, meaning the pool of £10,583.82 runs over to this weekend. The £4,581.32 place fund was won by 15 units, a dividend of £305.

Scoop6 Races for 16th August 2025 (Newmarket, Newbury & Ripon)

The Scoop6 this weekend will involve races from Newmarket, Newbury and Ripon. Leg 1 will be Newmarket’s Grey Horse Handicap with Newbury’s D&H, Excellence In Nutrition Handicap as leg 2 and the Silver Cup Handicap at Ripon as leg 3. Leg 4 is back at Newbury for the TPT Fire Handicap with Ripon’s Great St Wilfrid Handicap as leg 5. The sixth and final leg on Saturday will be Newbury’s Hungerford Stakes.

Three winning favourites in the first five legs in last Saturday’s Scoop6 left an incredible nine units in the final leg, Ascot’s Shergar Cup Mile. Of those units, four were on race favourite, Urban Lion, two were on Miss Information with one unit each on Arisag and Ebt’s Guard. In the end it was William Muir and Chris Grassick’s Ebt’s Guard who battled to victory, securing the £29,519.62 pool for the winning unit. The £4,974.12 place pool was won by 139 units, a dividend of £35.70.

All six races in this Saturday’s Scoop6 will come from Ascot’s Shergar Cup meeting. Leg 1 will be the Shergar Cup Dash, followed by the Stayers in leg 2 and the Challenge as leg 3. Leg number 4 is the sprint, before the Classic at leg 5 with the sixth and final leg the Mile.

With the opening five winners at odds of 11/2 or less in last Saturday’s Scoop6 in was no surprise to see 13.86 units in contention in the final leg, a 1m1f handicap at Goodwood. There were 5.86 units on the race favourite, Gladius for trainer Andrew Balding and Jockey William Buick, who edged out Whip Cracker by a head to secure his backers a dividend of £26,530.60 from the final pool of £155,615.31. The £8,927.93 place fund was won by 179.87 units, a dividend of £49.60.

Scoop6 Races for 2nd August 2025 (Goodwood & Newmarket)

It’s all about Goodwood this week, each leg of the Scoop6 coming from the last day of the Glorious meeting. We begin with the Summer Handicap, a competitive handicap before the Lillie Langtry Stakes and the all-important Stewards’ Cup.

The Whispering Angel handicap and two other valuable races finish things off, ideally with a Scoop6 winner on Stewards’ Cup Day.

The Scoop6 win fund last week was £137,759, reducing when favourite Elmonjed took the opening leg at York. Wins for Cheshire Dancer and Two Tribes followed by success for 15/2 shot Air Force One whittled down potential winning units further.

The final two legs took place at Ascot, 10/1 chance Fearnot winning leaving no winning legs left before favourite Calandagan took the King George. Only 7 units took the £7,137 place fund, the whole £137,759 now rolling over to this week.

This Saturday’s Scoop6 will have four races at Ascot with the remaining two races at York. Leg 1 will come from York with their Dash Handicap, which will be followed the Valiant Stakes as leg 2 and the International Handicap as leg 3, both of which run at Ascot. The Nunthorpe Handicap at York is leg 4, with the Betfred Handicap back at Ascot as leg 5. The final leg this week will be Ascot’s King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

Royal Dubai winning at 10/1 in the Steventon Stakes at leg 1 of last Saturday’s Scoop6 left just 672 units of the £38,000 entered the pool competing in leg 2. This reduced to 7 units by leg 4 which were split between King’s Gamble at 4/1 and Regional at 3/1. Those two runners could only finish second and third respectively, beaten by 33/1-shot Rage Of Bamby. The £123,485.36 pool will rollover to this Saturday. The £13,499.62 place fund was won by just 33 units, paying a dividend of £409.

Scoop6 Races for 19th July 2025 (Newbury & Market Rasen)

The Scoop6 this Saturday will have a combination of four flat races from Newbury and two jumps races from Market Rasen. Newbury’s Steventon Stakes is Leg 1, before the BetVictor Handicap also at Newbury. The Summer Handicap Hurdle at Market Rasen is Leg 3 ahead of the Hackwood Stakes at Newbury for Leg 4. Market Rasen’s Summer Plate Handicap Chase is the penultimate leg with the Weatherbys Super Sprint back at Newbury the final leg.

The first three legs of last Saturday’s Scoop6 were won by horses at odds of 11/8, 9/4 and 6/5 leaving over 3,000 units still in at leg 4. Fox Legacy winning the John Smith’s Cup at 10/1 and No Half Measures springing a 66/1 shock result in the July Cup left just three units at the final leg.

Glamorous Breeze, Jakajaro and race favourite Holkham Bay were all backed with one unit each however they could only finish 5th, 6th and 14th respectively which means that the £96,486.13 prize pool rolls over to this Saturday. The £12,503.77 place fund was won by 79 units, a dividend of £158.

This Saturday’s Scoop6 is spread across Ascot, York and Newmarket with two legs at each course. Ascot’s Summer Mile Stakes opens as leg 1 before the City Walls Stakes at York as leg 2 and the Bunbury Cup at Newmarket as leg 3. The John Smith’s Cup is leg 4 with the July Cup back at Newmarket as leg 5. The sixth leg on Saturday will be the LK Bennett Butterfly Mark Heritage Handicap at Ascot.

Despite winners at single figure odds in the first four legs of last week’s Scoop6, just one unit made it through to leg 5, Haydock’s Old Newton Cup. That single unit was on Edward Bethell’s Chillingham, a 16/1 shot who could only finish back in sixth place. The £71,478.60 prize pools rolls over to this Saturday. The £6,727.39 place fund was won by 48.86 units, paying a dividend of £137.60.
